東京都出身。ESMOD JAPON TOKYO卒業後、PRエージェントSTEADY STUDYでのインターンを経て渡伊。MARANGONI学院マスターコースを修了。在学中、DINARD INTERNATIONAL FASHION FESTIVALにてパリ市長賞を獲得。
Palais Royalの歴史的なギャラリーJOYCEでインスタレーションを行い、VOGUE ITALIA にてUPCOMING YOUNG TALENT として掲載される等注目を集める。2012年イタリアファッション協会CAMERA NAZIONALE DELLA MODAが主宰するコンペティションNEXT GENERATIONにてアジア人として初受賞。2012AWミラノコレクション公式スケジュール上にて自身の名前を冠したデビューコレクションを発表。
その後JOHN RICHMOND社に入社し経験を積んだ後、2015年よりJIL SANDER社レディースデザインチームに所属。
2018年に帰国し独立。東京を拠点にラグジュアリーファッションレーベルHARUNOBUMURATAを設立。
2022年にTOKYO FASHION AWARDを受賞、2024年には毎日ファッション大賞 新人賞を受賞

Born in Tokyo. After graduating from ESMOD JAPON TOKYO, he moved to Italy following an internship at the PR agency STEADY STUDY. He completed the Master’s course at Istituto Marangoni. During his studies, he received the Mayor of Paris Prize at the Dinard International Fashion Festival
He gained attention through an installation at the historic Galerie Joyce in Palais Royal, and was featured by VOGUE ITALIA as an “Upcoming Young Talent.” In 2012, he became the first Asian recipient of the “Next Generation” competition organized by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana. In the same year, he presented his debut collection under his own name on the official schedule of Milan Fashion Week (Fall/Winter 2012).
He later joined John Richmond, before becoming part of the womenswear design team at Jil Sander in 2015.
In 2018, he returned to Japan and established the luxury fashion label HARUNOBUMURATA, based in Tokyo.
He received the Tokyo Fashion Award in 2022, and the New Designer Award at the Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix in 2024.
